School hosts Planting Seeds of Innovation Conference April 25
January 21, 2025

The School of Nursing will host the 2025 Planting Seeds of Innovation Conference on April 25 to explore transformative strategies that integrate systems thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration and human-centered design to strengthen relational dynamics within health care environments.
Nurses are uniquely positioned to embrace innovation amidst change while continuing to provide optimal care. To meet new challenges and emphasize workplace wellbeing, health care leaders can incorporate collaborative care models, emotional intelligence and interdisciplinary communication. The Planting Seeds of Innovation Conference will explore these innovations and how they can advance the future of health care.
Julie Kennedy Oehlert, DNP, RN, chief experience and brand officer for ECU Health, will deliver the keynote address on innovation, human experience and workforce wellbeing.
Sessions will examine innovative strategies, including evidence-based holistic patient approaches, technology integration in clinical settings, and initiatives that enhance mental health and wellbeing for nurses.
The Planting Seeds of Innovation Conference will be held on April 25 in the Bentson Healthy Communities Innovation Center, Weaver-Densford Hall on the University of Minnesota’s Minneapolis campus. Registration before April 11 receives a discounted rate of $145 ($60 for students). Learn more and register at z.umn.edu/PlantingSeeds.
The first Planting Seeds of Innovation workshop was held in 2015 in partnership with M Health Fairview.
