The University of Minnesota rose to No. 8 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 ranking of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs. The school was tied for fourth among public universities in the publication’s survey of nearly 700 programs.

"This ranking reflects the talent and dedication of our faculty, staff and clinical partners who are embracing innovative approaches to teaching and learning,” said Susan Gross Forneris, PhD, RN, CNE, FAAN, associate dean for Academic Programs. “The introduction of integrative virtual reality and rich clinical opportunities like our rural immersion program help ensure our BSN graduates enter the profession ready to lead with skill and confidence.”

U.S. News placed the University of Minnesota Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program No. 4 in its latest ranking.
