Elizabeth Meyers, PhD, RN, CPHIMS

Elizabeth Meyers, PhD, RN joined the University of Minnesota as a Clinical Assistant Professor in 2023 and holds a joint appointment between the Institute for Health Informatics and School of Nursing. As an informatics professor, she specializes in expert judgement and decision making, data quality and interoperability, human factors and usability, and the value of healthcare services. Dr. Meyers runs an independent consulting business serving leading technology and healthcare firms, and has served as a mentor for the National Science Foundation's Innovation CORPS. She was also a member of the American Nurses Association Workforce Management Technology Industry Collaboration and the Nursing Knowledge: Big Data Science, Value of Nursing Care Workgroup. In the private sector, Dr. Meyers has held roles at the technology company, Infor, on the product team at National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), and in supply chain at M Health Fairview. Dr. Meyers is a veteran of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and has worked in perioperative clinical care and hospital administration. Dr. Meyers holds a PhD in Health Informatics from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Science in Technology Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Minnesota. Outside of her professional work, she is a volunteer ski patroller, teacher of eFoil surfing, and an avid scuba diver.
