Dee Huanca, BSN ’60, actively volunteers for the Faith Community Nurse Network and 1st Evangelical Church.

Judith Ottoson, BSN ’68, co-edited the book Health Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation: Creating Behavioral, Environmental, and Policy Change on the PRECEDE-PROCEED Model.

Susan Howard, BSN ’75, retired after 45 years of rural hospital nursing. Howard is a past president of the Wyoming Nurses Association and the Wyoming State Board of Nursing. She served as the co-developer/co-administrator for the Wyoming Nurse Leadership Institute. Her family boasts two additional generations of School of Nursing alumni — JoAnn M (Bouma) Williams, BSN ’52, and Kristin Howard, DNP ’13.

Pam Goldman, BSN ’81, was promoted to system director, Risk Consulting Services, for Fairview Health Services.

Barbara Champlin, MS ’92, was featured in an episode of MPR News with Angela Davis for publishing an academic case study about severe stroke survival — The Lived Experience of Serious Stroke Survival: A Hermeneutic Phenomenological Case Study in Rehabilitation Nursing.

Gay Lynn Richards, MS ’03, published Breast Cancer Champions: A Peer-to-Peer Education and Mobile Mammography Program Improving Breast Cancer Screening Rates for Women of African Heritage in Cancer Causes & Control.

Brian Quinn, BSN ’06 and current Doctor of Nursing Practice student in the health innovation and leadership specialty, was elected as mayor of Lake City, Minnesota.

Bonnie Brueshoff, DNP ’13, MS ’89, retired from full-time work and works as a part-time Public Health Consultant with the Minnesota Public Health Corps. Minnesota has the largest Public Health Corps program in the United States.

Sara McCumber, DNP ’14, MS ’96, was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in June 2024.

Chantal Skon, BSN ’14, is a faculty member at the University of Arizona and a PhD student in nursing and health innovation at Arizona State University. She received the University of Arizona “Old Main Brick” Award in recognition of “excellence in teaching, service, scholarship, or other contributions towards fulfilling the mission at the college, University, or the nursing profession as a whole.”

Sheryl Ramstad, DNP ’17, MN ’13, wrote the memoir Living Life Full Throttle: Surviving, Serving, and Summiting, which was published by Muse Literary.

Nancy DeZellar Walsh, DNP ’17, MS ’88, published The Role of High Reliability Organization Foundational Practices in Building a Culture of Safety in the Federal Practitioner.

Kelly Landsman, MN ’20, recently joined the HealthPartners Institute Clinical Simulation team as a simulation education specialist.

Jethrone Role, DNP ’20, selected as one of the newest members of American Nurses Association — 2025 California Advocacy Institute Fellowship (Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Campaign).

Tucker Annis, DNP ’21, BSN ’15, joined Qventus, Inc as a senior analytics success partner. Annis will work to support its perioperative solution to optimize OR scheduling and drive strategic growth.

Nathan Koranda, DNP ’23, was awarded the ISPN Foundation Joyce Fitzpatrick Psychiatric Nursing Research Grant. Issued by the International Society of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses, this award supports psychiatric nursing research.

Ryan Schneider, DNP ’24, BSN ’17, started a new position at Kai Shin Clinic as manager of Clinic Operations. Kai Shin Clinic specializes in providing comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Amanda Kremers, DNP ’24, began work as a family nurse practitioner in primary care at M Health Fairview, North Branch.
