Original scholarly inquiry is the core of the rich synergy of research, education, and practice at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. Opportunities for collaborative research abound with nursing colleagues, colleagues from other disciplines at Minnesota’s renowned Academic Health Center and in other academic areas throughout the University, and community partners in this progressive, health-oriented community.
Faculty research enriches the education of postdoctoral fellows and students at all levels—from doctoral to undergraduate.

Robust scholarly inquiry is central to the School of Nursing. Our faculty lead interdisciplinary research teams with clinical and community partners to improve healthcare for individuals, families and communities. Rich inter-professional, collaborative research opportunities are available. SoN research responds to societal needs and aligns with University of Minnesota initiatives and the Academic Health Center Corridors of Discovery. Focal areas of research include:
