The Center for Nursing Informatics is an International Classification of Nursing Practice Research and Development Center that focuses on the development of nursing knowledge through the use of standardized nursing terminologies and essential minimum data sets. The ultimate goal is to improve global health by the daily use of terms that adequately reflect nursing practice.

Katharine J. Densford International Center for Nursing Leadership
The mission of the Katharine J. Densford International Center for Nursing Leadership is to improve health and health care worldwide through the education, collaboration and promotion of nurses as strong leaders and good partners. The Center is valued throughout the world for helping nurses advance as leaders.

Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing
The vision of the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing is to advance the health and wellbeing of individuals, organizations, and communities through integrative health and healing. In partnership with the center, the School of Nursing provides educational opportunities such as the Integrative Health and Healing DNP specialty degrees and post-baccalaureate certificates.

The Institute for Health Informatics (IHI) educates students and conducts reserach in the fields of biomedical and health informatics. Ranked second in the nation in nursing informatics education by U.S. News & World Report, the University of Minnesota School of Nursing contributes to the IHI through faculty expertise and their long partnership with Optum Labs.Â
