Dear Friends, Colleagues and Prospective Students:

The School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota provides its students with a world-class opportunity to learn, lead and discover in a dynamic learning and research environment. Our faculty are nationally and internationally renowned for their leadership, practice expertise and research discoveries. Many are professionally engaged in community practices that ground them in the front-line health care challenges and insights of our time.

Today the school ranks 12th among nursing graduate schools by U.S. News and World Report.  As part of a premier research institution, School of Nursing faculty are engaged in new discoveries and initiatives with our public, private and community partners. Applied research and development is enhanced by collaboration with other professions including the University’s Academic Health Center, which includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, public health and nursing. The school has a uniquely integrated relationship with its largest clinical partner, University of Minnesota Health. This Nursing Collaboratory facilitates research, education and evidence-based practice in numerous ways.

The school’s state-of-the-art learning simulation center - the Bentson Healthy Communities Innovation Center - opened in 2013 providing nursing students and faculty exceptional possibilities for scholarship, complex simulations experiences. Students benefit from contemporary and flexible educational delivery online, in class in the Twin Cities and Rochester, and through expertly arranged clinical placements for all.

We continue to foster a welcoming academic environment through increased diversity of our students, faculty, staff and community partners.

Join our community.  Our graduates are leaders who have the skills, capacity and framework to deliver and design care that leads to better health care outcomes for all. Join us as we explore, engage, excel.
