Gender-based violence is a public health crisis that demands informed, compassionate, and research-driven responses. In this presentation, School of Nursing Professor Lucy Mkandawire-Valhmu, PhD, RN, FAAN, Associate Professor Leso Munala, PhD, MSW, Anna Pirsch, PhD, and graduate student Hannah Martin will explore the critical role nurses play not only in identifying and supporting survivors, but also in generating evidence to challenge systemic injustice and improve health outcomes. This powerful presentation is part of the School of Nursing’s Homecoming Weekend programming, highlighting the School’s ongoing commitment to research excellence and community engagement.
