Bradford joins University as interim executive vice president for Health Affairs

Carol Bradford, MD, MS, FACS, joined the University of Minnesota as interim executive vice president for Health Affairs and dean of the Medical School. In this newly defined role, working with the health science deans, she will lead all aspects of the University’s health care enterprise. For the past five years, she served as dean of The Ohio State University College of Medicine and vice president for Health Sciences at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.  Bradford is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and an internationally recognized head and neck cancer surgeon-scientist. In 2020, she was elected president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and was inducted into the academy’s Hall of Distinction in 2023.


School receives HEED Award for 10th consecutive year

The School of Nursing received the 2025 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence and Distinction (HEED) Award from Insight Into Academia magazine. The award recognizes U.S. health colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to academic excellence, belonging and community-building across all levels of campus life. This marks the 10th consecutive year the school has been honored. It was one of nine schools of nursing to be recognized.


New edition of Integrative Nursing published

The third edition of Integrative Nursing: A whole health perspective, co-edited by Professor Mary Jo Kreitzer, PhD, RN, FAAN, was published by Oxford University Press. Faculty who contributed to the publication include Associate Professor Robin Austin, PhD, DNP, DC, RN, NI-BC, FAMIA, FAAN, Clinical Professor Sherry Chesak, PhD, RN, Professor Connie White Delaney, PhD, RN, FAAN, FACMI, FNAP, Clinical Associate Professor Donna Eull, PhD, RN, CHPPN, Faculty Emeritus Merrie Kaas, PhD, APRN, PMHCNS-BC, Clinical Associate Professor Laura Kirk, PhD, RN, Faculty ad Honorem Teddie Potter, PhD, RN, FAAN, FNAP, and Clinical Assistant Professor Angelica Walton, DNP, RN.
