Bernard “Bernie” Aldrich passed away Feb. 23. He served on the School of Nursing Foundation Board of Trustees from 2018-2023.

Professor Emerita Monica Bossenmaier passed away Oct. 14, 2024. She was a graduate of the cadet nurse program during World War II and studied at St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Minnesota.

Eileen Ann McKee, MS ’71, passed away Jan. 25. She served as assistant to the dean of nursing at the University of Minnesota and was the liaison between the School of Nursing and the Minnesota Board of Nursing.

Professor Emerita Mariah Snyder passed on Oct. 22, 2024. Snyder was a compassionate leader, nurse and educator who inspired countless students and peers. She was instrumental in establishing the School of Nursing’s graduate program in gerontology, including launching the 23rd nursing PhD program in the United States. Snyder, along with the late Professor Emerita Muriel Ryden, proposed and launched the gerontological nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist options in the master’s curriculum at the School of Nursing. In celebration of their shared leadership and contributions, the School of Nursing established the M and M Fellowship in Gerontological Nursing in 2002.
