In November, University Regents, including Joel Bergstrom, had the opportunity to experience the virtual reality being incorporated into nursing simulations under the leadership of Cynthia Bradley, director of simulation.
BSN students attended the Minnesota Student Nurses’ Association Convention in February. The theme of the convention was Scrubbed In!
A celebration of the newly updated American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses was held on Oct. 30. Speakers included Ian Wolfe, director of Ethics at Children’s Minnesota, Martha Turner, cochair of the 2025 Code of Ethics for Nurses revision, Teddie Potter, School of Nursing planetary health director, Shika Kalevor, a bioethics leader at Children’s Minnesota who served on an expert panel for the ANA revision, Katheren Koehn, Minnesota Organization of Registered Nurses executive director.
The school celebrated the graduation of students in the Master of Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs at a commencement ceremony Dec. 19 at Northrop.
Shirley Maniak, Shirley Nordahl and Mary Rudolphi Blankenship belatedly celebrated their 50th reunion, which COVID delayed in 2020, at the All School Reunion in October.
Nurse-midwifery students spent time in the Wangensteen Historical Library of Biology and Medicine in January reviewing women’s health and midwifery related texts, instruments and ephemera.
