Olson named director of development and alumni relations

David Olson joins the Development and Alumni Relations team as the lead development officer. In this role, he will lead strategy and execution of the school’s comprehensive fundraising plan, while also overseeing alumni relations.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside Dean Delaney to advance the School of Nursing’s mission,” says Olson. “The school is supported by a passionate group of alumni, supporters, and friends, and I look forward to partnering with this community to identify how philanthropy can continue to make a difference in the lives of our students and contributions of our faculty.”

Olson brings a deep understanding of development and the importance of collaboration having served as senior development officer and senior manager at the University of Minnesota Foundation, a number of central University offices, including Undergraduate Education, Student Affairs, Equity & Diversity, and the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. Prior to joining the Foundation, he was the associate vice president for Institutional Advancement at Totino-Grace High School.

He is a proud graduate of the Carlson School of Management, earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
