Biography

Bio

Dr. Angelica Walton’s professional trajectory is dedicated to cultivating a visionary practice of leadership for the health systems of the future. As an internationally recognized strategist and pedagogical pioneer, she directs interdisciplinary teams as the Director of Research and Scholarship for the Global North American Planetary Health Alliance Council, bridging the gap between frontline clinical innovation and global ecological policy. Within the Health Innovation and Leadership track, she prepares scholars to navigate the transition toward regenerative, ecologically conscious models of care.

Through her entrepreneurial consulting practice, Dr. Walton actualizes a unique bridge between nature-based strategies and academic discovery. By translating biomimetic principles into organizational governance, she utilizes an ecofeminist arc to position the nurse as a social architect of systemic healing. As the Director of the Center for Planetary Health and Environmental Justice, she spearheads bioregional development and the "environments of care" methodology—an approach that integrates the arts and restorative design to foster socially cohesive, optimal healing spaces.

A prolific author of international book chapters, quality improvement efforts, and advocacy for planetary health and Indigenous land sovereignty, Dr. Walton’s impact is amplified through an interprofessional mentorship model that translates grassroots innovation into systems-level influence. Angelica continues to learn through her experiences, that health is fundamentally relational and woven through the bodies of people, communities, and ecosystems. Grounded in this holistic philosophy, she serves as a catalyst for a new era of nursing leadership, where professional agency is rooted in the understanding that the healing of the person is inseparable from the healing of the land.
