Biography

Bio

Dr. Walton is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing with expertise in Holistic and Integrative systems of care. Her areas of teaching are focused on diverse global health perspectives to advance education, practice, and leadership through innovative and creative systems improvement strategies. Angelica leads efforts in the promotion of sustainable environments and communities through a focus on reclaiming knowledge of ecosocial partnerships and embodiment practices to restore population health and planetary wellness. Angelica's previous clinical background was critical care registered nursing (CCRN) in disaster and crisis response, cardiovascular, medical, and surgical intensive care, as well as home hospice, palliative, and integrative care in the community. 

She is a member of the University's Global Health Scholars Community of Practice and provides service, mentorship, or leadership within a number of professional organizations at the local, national, and international level. Angelica serves on the Board of Directors for the Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships (RSDP) which works to protect natural resources and rural communities by working with communities to address sustainability issues and foster resilience. She also serves on grassroots Planetary Health and Environmental Justice committee, Community Arts @ Health Sciences, and as Faculty Advisor of the Transdisciplinary Student Health Sciences Arts Advisory Board (HSAAB). As an entrepreneur and small business owner, she is an active consultant in the community and collaborates with many local partners to offer services and education to promote social sustainability, healing, and health.
