Biographical Summary
Dr. Jenna Herman, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, serves as clinical associate professor and specialty coordinator for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialty in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. With nearly two decades of diverse clinical experience spanning primary care, urgent care, and correctional medicine, Dr. Herman brings exceptional real-world expertise to her academic role. She is passionate about preparing FNP students for comprehensive clinical management of patients across the lifespan within the context of their families and communities. Dr. Herman is deeply committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and advancing healthcare education through innovative teaching methods, collaborative scholarship, and meaningful community engagement. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes vulnerable curiosity and open dialogue. Dr. Herman holds a DNP from the University of Minnesota, an MS in nursing from the College of St. Scholastica, and a BA in nursing from Augustana University. She maintains active involvement in clinical practice and professional service, ensuring her teaching remains grounded in current healthcare realities and continues to evolve with the changing landscape of healthcare delivery.
