National Patient Outcome Initiatives at the Intersection of Nursing, Informatics, and Big Data - A Dialogue

This 10th annual conference presents an opportunity to reimagine the future work of the NKBDS Initiative.  The NKBDS leaders, together with national experts, have redesigned our strategic vision and mission to align our actions with three important national initiatives. In support of these priorities, we open this year’s conference with a dialogue between national leaders to discuss current recommendations provided by The Future of Nursing Report, The AACN Essentials, and the Unique Nurse Identifier and describe their alignment with the NKBDS Initiative’s five-year strategic plan. This conversation will address the opportunities and challenges different stakeholders face in their efforts to improve patient outcomes through the adoption and implementation of these national initiatives. Conference participants will come away with new ideas to support their own work.
