Biographical Summary

Sheila Smith, PHD, ANP-BC, AGACNP-BC, is a clinical professor in the School of Nursing and a nurse practitioner who cares for adult patients with family medicine and primary care needs. Dr. Smith has over 30 years’ experience in nursing and nurse practitioner education. Sheila sees her patients at University of Minnesota Health Nurse Practitioners Clinic. Her clinical interests include chronic disease management, health promotion, integrative medicine and women's health. Clinical and diagnostic reasoning are among her primary areas of research and scholarship. Other research interests include vulnerable populations and social determinants of health.
