Mueller appointed to Council on Developmental Disabilities

Christine Mueller

Professor Christine Mueller, PhD, RN, FGSA, FAAN, Katherine R. & C. Walton Lillehei Chair in Nursing Leadership, was appointed by Gov. Tim Walz to the Minnesota Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities.

The mission of the council is to provide information, education and training to build knowledge, develop skills, and change attitudes that will lead to increased independence, productivity, self determination, integration and inclusion for people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Mueller was appointed to a three-year term as a state agency representative of the Minnesota Board of Aging, which she has served on since 2022. Mueller’s career has focused on improving the care of elders living in nursing homes, specifically on factors that can influence quality of nursing home care such as nurse staffing, care delivery systems, and the role of the nurse and nursing home culture change.
