Students present research posters at Midwest Nursing Research Society conference, despite COVID-19 restrictions
Three student posters took top honors from Midwest Nursing Research Society conference, including two first-place awards.
Bonnie Alver, a Master of Nursing student, received first place for the poster The Role of Community in Promoting Healthy Cooking and Eating Behaviors for Customers of the Twin Cities Mobile Market.
Jane Claeys, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student, received first place for Association Between Family Stroke History and Personal Stroke Risk Score: A Community Survey.
Blaire Bemel, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student, earned honorable mention for A Predictive Model for Developing Long-Term Opioid Use After Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery.
While the in-person MNRS conference and School of Nursing Research Day couldn’t take place because of the COVID-19 pandemic, students still had an opportunity to present their posters on research topics. More than two dozen students created voice thread presentations to showcase their posters.
