May 30, 2019

Diane Treat-Jacobson with award

Professor Diane Treat-Jacobson, PhD, RN, MSVM, FAAN, was conferred as a Master of the Society for Vascular Medicine (SVM) for her extraordinary service. She is the first nurse to receive the distinction.

The award recognizes extraordinary service, selfless dedication and enlightened leadership to the SVM and the field of vascular medicine. Individuals need to be a Fellow of the Society for more than 15 years to be considered and no more than three Master designations are awarded each year.

Treat-Jacobson’s research is focused on promoting awareness, timely identification and improved treatment for patients who experience peripheral artery disease (PAD), including the development and implementation of exercise interventions for patients with symptomatic PAD and in the assessment of outcomes documenting the effects of these interventions.

Treat-Jacobson was presented with the MSVM award by Heather Gornik, MD, FSVM, president of SVM, at the Annual Scientific Sessions.
