The American Academy of Nursing officially designated Dean Connie White Delaney, PhD, RN, FAAN, FACMI, FNAP, a Living Legend at the 2025 Health Policy Conference on Oct. 17.

The School of Nursing Alumni Society Board named the 2025 recipients of its annual awards - the Excellence in Practice Award, Distinguished Alumni Humanitarian Award and Rising Star Award. Awardees were honored at the All School Reunion in October.

The University of Minnesota rose to No. 8 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 ranking of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs. The school was tied for fourth among public universities in the publication’s survey of nearly 700 programs. 

Susan Gross Forneris, PhD, RN, CNE, CHSE-A, FAAN, professor and associate dean for academic programs, was selected as a Fellow for induction into the prestigious National League for Nursing (NLN) Academy of Nursing Education. 

Professor Mary Hearst, PhD, was named a Fulbright Specialist by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. 

Dean Connie White Delaney, PhD, RN, FACMI, FNAP, FAAN, was named a 2025 Living Legend by the American Academy of Nursing. 

Clinical Professor Brian Goodroad, DNP, APRN, CNP, FAANP, and Associate Professor Melissa Horning, PhD, RN, PHN, were named to the 2025 Class of American Academy of Nursing Fellows.
