Christine Mueller, PhD, RN, FGSA, FAAN, professor and senior executive associate dean for Academic Programs, received designation as a Distinguished Educator in Nursing from the National Hartford Center for Gerontological Nursing Excellence (NHCGNE). She was also elected to the NHCGNE Board of Directors.

Diane Twedell, DNP, MS ‘99, RN, CENP, FAONL, is one of two nurse leaders from Minnesota being inducted into the 2021 Class of Fellows by the American Academy of Nursing. Twedell is a nurse administer at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Professor Susan O’Conner-Von, PhD, RN, was named a recipient of the 2018-2019 Award for Outstanding Contributions to Graduate and Professional Education by the University of Minnesota. This honor is awarded to exceptional candidates nominated by colleges in their quest to identify excellence in graduate and professional education.

School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota received the 2017 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award today, a national honor recognizing US medical, dental, pharmacy, osteopathic, nursing and allied health schools that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. The school is one of just seven schools of nursing in the country to receive the award this year.

Assistant Professor Carrie Neerland, PhD, APRN, CNM, FACNM, was named a finalist for the 2019 Mary Ann Shah New Author Award awarded by the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health. This award is given to a certified nurse-midwife who publishes for the first time as the primary author of an original research or review article in the journal. Neerland was the primary author of Maternal Confidence for Physiology Childbirth: A Concept Analysis.
