Give to the Max Day raises over $32,000 for scholarships

More than 50 University of Minnesota School of Nursing alumni and friends donated over $32,000 to the I Want to be a Nurse scholarship fund during Give to the Max Day 2023.

Unfortunately, becoming a nurse has become financially unattainable for too many students. These generous gifts from alumni and friends of the school will support students who want to join the nursing profession. Donations are still being accepted on the Give to the Max Day 2023 crowdfunding website. 

Here’s why a few donors gave to the I Want to be a Nurse scholarship fund on Give to the Max Day 2023:

“As the first recipient of a School of Nursing Foundation scholarship around 1961-62, I send a message of encouragement. This may help someone else get through school like it helped me. I wish I could do more.” 

“Welcome to the wonderful world of nursing!” 

“So very impressed with leadership, faculty and student body. Stunning example of something going right in today's world. Thanks for all you do!” 

“I am giving because I believe in the future planetary health nurses that the School of Nursing is preparing.”
