The School of Nursing hosted a Welcome to the Nursing Profession ceremony Sept. 9 at Coffman Theater to celebrate Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Nursing students’ entry into the nursing profession.

The School of Nursing hosted a Welcome to the Nursing Profession - Gold-AACN Oath Ceremony for Nursing Sept. 10 at Coffman Theater to celebrate Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Nursing students’ entry into the nursing profession.

As Katelyn Day prepared for her visit with a diabetic patient with concerns about a foot ulcer, she reviewed his discharge papers from a recent hospital visit and best practices for wound care for non-healing foot ulcers. She also had to check her computer’s settings and Zoom configuration to ensure she could see and hear the patient.

The School of Nursing hosted a virtual Welcome to the Nursing Profession ceremony Sept. 11 to celebrate Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Nursing students’ entry into the nursing profession.

Nursing students rated their remote learning experience at the University of Minnesota highly, after classes pivoted to an online platform because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

PhD students Kara Koschmann, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC, and Meghan Hultman, MSN, RN, were named Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Future of Nursing Scholars and will receive $125,000 each to use over the course of three years to complete their PhD degrees.
