O’Conner-Von to be inducted as NLN Academy of Nursing Education fellow

Susan O'Conner-Von, PhD, RN, CNE, FNAP, was selected as a fellow for induction into the prestigious National League for Nursing (NLN) Academy of Nursing Education.

Fellows are selected for their contributions to innovative teaching and learning strategies, nursing education research, faculty development activities, academic leadership, promotion of public policy initiatives that advance nursing education, and collaborative educational, practice, or community partnerships.

O’Conner Von has developed expertise in nursing education, pain management, palliative care, and end-of-life care. She’s led several grants, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Rural Health Workforce Development Program: Minnesota’s Palliative Care Initiative. The initiative created and educated palliative care teams and developed rural clinical sites for health professional students, including nurse practitioner students. She also helped create a study abroad course for undergraduate and graduate nursing student in Ireland.

O'Conner-Von will be inducted in a ceremony in September at the 2024 NLN Education Summit.
