4 students, post-doc receive MNRS awards

Postdoctoral Fellow Nadeen Alshakhshir received the Research Dissertation Award from the Adolescent Health RIIG for Awakening the spiritual identity in adolescents and young adults with cancer: A phenomenological study at the Midwest Nursing Research Society annual conference in Indianapolis, March 26-29.
Additionally, three students received awards for their poster presentations. MN student Sashmitaa Bagavathiraj received first place for Mental Health Management in Youth: A Review of the Long-Term Risks and Benefits of Psychotropic Medications. DNP student Marisa Keidel received second place for Empowering Movement: Implementing a Nurse-Driven Protocol for Early Mobility in Critically Ill Patients. BSN student Emma Lassen received honorable mention for Connections that Count: Peer and Family Relationships as Resources for Youth Mental Health.

- DNP student Casey Groskreutz presented Quality Improvement Project on Pressure Ulcer Prevention In Orthopedic Patients: A Focus on Impact of Medical Devices.
- DNP student Jessica Rusciano presented Enhancing Interprofessional Competency among Students through Collaborative Educational and Patient Care Experiences in a Clinic Setting.
- BSN student Lexy Lipsh presented Obstetric Simulation Facilitator Training: Improving Interprofessional Healthcare Education in Nairobi, Kenya.
- BSN student Shivani Muthya presented Exploring the relationship between household food and nutrition insecurity and self-efficacy nutrition-related behaviors for adults living in subsidized housing.
