Anderson to receive Nurse Practitioner Award for Excellence

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) named Jane Anderson, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, ANP-C, the recipient of the Nurse Practitioner Award for Excellence for the state of Minnesota. 

The State Award for Excellence is given to a nurse practitioner in each state who demonstrates excellence in clinical practice.

Anderson is a clinical assistant professor and director of the Nurse Practitioners Clinic in Minneapolis, which is partnership between University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. Anderson has been a pioneer in advancing the role of nurse practitioners and creating nurse-run clinics in an environment historically dominated by medicine.

She will receive the award at the AANP national meeting in June in New Orleans.
