Professor Jayne Fulkerson, PhD, was named a McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair in Nursing.

The School of Nursing announced the appointment of eight endowed chairs and professors.

The Center for Nursing Equity and Excellence (CNEE), which was launched through a partnership between the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State, was awarded a $740,000 grant from the Department of Employment and Economic Development's (DEED) to launch a Pre-Licensure Nursing Apprenticeship pilot program.

Associate Professor Rozina Bhimani, PhD, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CNE, CRRN, Long Term Care Professor in Nursing, received the Outstanding Contributions to Graduate and Professional Education Award and was inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Teachers.

Clinical Professor Sherry Chesak, PhD, RN, and Clinical Associate Professor Dorcas Kunkel, DNP, RN, PHN, CNE, CPHIMS, were inducted into the National Academies of Practice (NAP).

The Annex Teen Clinic, an academic-practice partner of the School of Nursing, helps young people take charge of their sexual health by providing confidential health services and education.

U.S. News & World Report placed the University of Minnesota School of Nursing No. 8 in its 2024-2025 ranking of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs.

Kim Heckmann, MSN, FNP-C, SCRN, PHN, Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Residency program director at the Minneapolis VA Healthcare System (MVAHCS), was named the recipient of the 2024 Excellence in Education Academic Collaboration with an Affiliate Award.

Dean Connie White Delaney, PhD, RN, FAAN, FACMI, FNAP, received the HIMSS-ANI Nursing Informatics Leadership Award for her significant leadership contributions to optimize health engagements and care outcomes through information and technology.
